ITC to expedite review of duties on pure magnesium from China

The US International Trade Commission voted Friday to expedite its five year or "sunset" review of the antidumping order on pure magnesium imported from China, a statement from the ITC said.

The review will determine if revoking the order will be likely "to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time." The ITC Commissioners will probably not hold a hearing and will base their decision on already available facts.

Although no schedule has been set for arriving at a decision, ITC spokeswoman Peg O'Laughlin told Platts that once a schedule is set there will be a decision within 150 days. The schedule is likely to be set in the next week or 10 days.
