Prices Decline for Global Aromatics

Falling crude and gasoline prices have led North American aromatics producers to drop their prices for Toluene and Xylene. Competition from European Styrene shipped to Asia could bring down prices of U.S. Styrene as well. Falling Asian Toluene prices have also affected the European market, with spot prices falling in Europe as much as 7 percent or more. An oversupply of Benzene in Europe resulted in its price decreasing as well. Asian Styrene prices did rebound at least temporarily in response to a rise in crude oil prices. Increased supplies are likely to keep prices generally lower, though
